*Schedule: This hasn't changed too much from last month other than it is more firmly set now. It goes something like this: up between 8 and 9 with a very short feeding shortly after; about 10:30 eat again and take about an hour nap; after this nap is her happiest time of the day; eat solid food for lunch about 12:30; nurse again about 2 and then another nap--this nap varies greatly in length--sometimes it's very short, 30 minutes, and sometimes quite long, over 2 hours; depending on the nap length she will eat 1-2 more times before we have dinner; one of the most fussy times of the day is when I'm fixing dinner but this is slowly getting better and she is usually content to play now; she will eat 2-3 more times before going to bed for the night between 10:30 and 11:30; she also will take a catnap or two during the evening hours although I don't let her sleep for very long after 7.
*Stats: She was 18 lb 3 oz and 27 inches long at her 6 month check-up. This put her in the 75-90% for height and 90-95% for weight. I weighed her last week and depending on the rounding of the scale she is between 19-20 pounds. She is now wearing almost all 9 month size clothes--the only 6 month stuff she still wears are those things that I really like and don't want to put away yet. Pajamas are now 12 month size. Hannah is a big girl! Her hair is continuing to get longer although we still get many comments about her lack of hair. It is still very light in color and sometimes there is a hint of red. Her eyes are still blue.
*Food: Hannah is still really enjoying solid food and she has solid meals twice a day now. At this point Hannah has added too many things to her diet to remember. Because she shows so much interest in our food I tried giving her some puffs about 10 days ago. She tried to swallow them whole rather than gumming them so we put them away and I'll try again probably next week. Hannah is still nursing between 7-10 times a day as well.
*Activities: Hannah's favorite activity is exploring. Now that she is crawling she wants to see what everything is; she was doing this before but obviously not as easily. Hannah seems way more inquisitive than Luke ever was--she's trying to open drawers already and pulling anything she can get ahold of into her mouth. She still loves to move and has gradually become happier being more on her own. She spends most of her awake time on the floor, in her exersaucer or in the bouncing horse. Hannah's other favorite activity is still watching Luke play. More often than not Luke can make her laugh or smile if she's fussy.
*Mobility: Hannah is now CRAWLING!!! She has been working on it very diligently for the past 3-4 weeks. She finally figured it out Sunday night. We had to immediately baby proof the family completely. Troy put the gates up and Hannah has already tried pulling on them to get out. She isn't super fast at crawling yet but give her a couple of weeks and we will definitely have our hands full. Hannah has pretty much mastered sitting up on her own and has managed to get back to a sitting position from laying on the floor a few times. Hannah continues to amaze me with her strength. You must be ready for her spontaneous attempts to launch herself out of your arms at any moment while holding her. She has even managed to pull herself up to her knees a few times.
*Favorites: I am still Hannah's favorite person but she has a smile for anyone that says hello or interacts with her. Her seperation anxiety has definitely increased the last few weeks and she wants no one but me esepecially at night. Luke never went through this to this extint so another learning period for us. Other favorites: a telephone rattle; balls; squeaky toys; and she still really likes being outside, playing with my necklace while in the Moby wrap and actually just being in the Moby wrap, chewing on anything she can get in her mouth, and playing with Luke. Hannah also really loves bath time and just hanging out in water in general :)
*Noises/Talking: A new category this month. Of course Hannah isn't saying any words yet although Troy is convinced she can say momma when she's very tired and wants me. It certainly sounds like she is saying it but I don't think she knows that's who I am yet. Hannah has some very intense noises. She squeals the highest pitch squeal I've ever heard from a baby--it truly can hurt your ears. She also has a very deep-throaty growl/grunt. Hannah is also constantly jabbering and in general just making different noises
*Events: This last month we celebrated Luke's birthday, had 3 days of just mom and Hannah time, figured out crawling and established a more consistant schedule. The next month we have a trip to visit Uncle Todd and Aunt Georgia planned and another few days alone with mom as Luke spends time with Grammy and PawPaw.
